Workshop descriptions:

Book binding

Wednesday 1st August

I will show you how to make your very own books using paper of your choice. We will go from how to put together signatures, binding them using the kettle stitch, and then how to secure the spine and add a cover. We will make a very quick notebook first so that you get the hang of things, and then you can start on your own book project. Even if you don't finish, I will make sure you take away everything you need to complete what you started! Hand made books make great personalised gifts for loved ones.

Sculpting with polymer clay

Wednesday 15th August

During this workshop you will be able to choose four colours from a range of polymer clay colours and make some charms/pendants/earrings/necklaces/whatever of your own design (I will help with plenty of ideas). You will be supplied with the tools and materials you need to make your creations. You can either leave them with me for baking, or take them home yourself to bake. Items made early in the workshop may even be able to be baked during the workshop time. You can make as many items as you want with the clay supplied, and if you have time and want to make more, there will only be a small charge for extra clay (charged by amount used, priced at cost). I will guide you through various techniques and tips for working with polymer clay.

Make your own nail polish

Wednesday 5th September

I will take you through how to make your own nail polish, where to get the supplies you need, and some hints and tips for making the best nail polish you can. You will be supplied with the materials for making one large and three mini polishes, which you will plan and make yourself. If you wish to make more during the workshop, you there will be a small charge (less than the retail price) per extra bottle ($2 per small bottle, $5 per large).

Resin jewellery

Wednesday 19th September

During this workshop you will make some pieces of resin jewellery. I will talk about how to work with resin. We will be using UV resin so that it cures quickly in a UV lamp, but will also talk about two-part resin and how to use that (and where to get it). You can make rings, pendants, gems, cabochons and domes. Each person will receive the supplies needed to make four pieces of resin jewellery. If you want to make more during the workshop, there will be a small charge for the extra supplies ($2 per item).

DIY gift cards

Wednesday 3rd October

During this workshop you will make up to four cards using watercolour, ink, and stamping techniques. I will walk you through how to use the different media, and provide ideas and examples. Great to get you started with making cards that are simple, but stylish. Give unique cards to your loved ones for birthday, Christmas or other occasions. If you wish to make more than 4 cards, there will be a small charge per extra card to cover costs ($2 per card).

Wednesday 17th October

You will be supplied with tissue paper and a basic box, and the modpodge and brushes needed. You may bring magazines or other things with pictures to cut up, and you may bring your own thing to decoupage if you like. You can decoupage wood, glass, cardboard, picture frames, vases, bowls, lampshades, mirrors, almost any surface. Not sure what decoupage is? Here's a good pinterest board!
